3 Questions That Help Call Out any B.S. On Pursuing Your Goals

"To do more, sometimes you have to do less" - ?

I'm not sure who said this quote but I decided to take stop and actively reflect on where I am at this point in life.

After going through a video by 'Captain Sindbad' and a course being designed by my friend Kevin Packer, I zoned in on 3 Questions that made a difference:

1. Is This The Right Time To Go For It?

Define what you want to be doing, why you want to be doing it and then think if it's the right time to go for it.

Opinion: Honestly, we're never really 'ready' or 'perfect'. Just starting off is the best thing you can do.

2. If You Have A 10 Year Goal, How Can I Achieve It In 6 Months? (If Someone Held A Gun To Your Head)

This one is an answer unique to everyone because we have different goals. The intention is to cut through the noise, eliminate unnecessary pieces and get on it.

Opinion: It definitely helps put things in perspective; you might even conclude you legitimately don't need 10 years. Your goals are defined by the time you give them.

3. What Would Excite Me?

We often chase happiness, but chasing what excites us might be the way to go. Quite often we feel happy after we do things that excite us. So try answering the question "What Would Excite Me?"

Opinion: This perspective aligns with the way I approach things and you can disagree with it. Don't knock it without trying is all I say.

Spending some time trying to answer these questions can be a very rewarding experience. It was for me. You won't have all the answers, or they can (and mostly will) change over time but that's part of the process.

Grab a pen, paper and get on it 😄
