Update: It's been a long time since I wrote, and that's because I've been planning a revamp, a flurry of new ideas and better content. I'll be back to frequent posting so now would be a good time to sign up ;)

One of the benefits of growing older is that you experience more from life (and people take you a little more seriously). Although I've been feeling old for a couple of years now, I learned some valuable lessons that I felt like sharing. These are contextual to my personal life feel free to hit me up :)

  1. Marks aren’t everything, learning is.

  2. Anger isn't a problem, how you choose react to it is

  3. People are always 'figuring it out'

  4. You give yourself lesser credit than you should be

  5. Your past doesn't define who you are today

  6. Fitness is a lifestyle - both mental and physical

  7. You'll make lesser 'friends' as you grow

  8. Reading equates to learning

  9. If inspiration strikes, write it down

  10. People are always worried about themselves (not you)

  11. Ask a lot of questions

  12. Things can be done differently

  13. Learn things outside your job

  14. Mentoring teaches you more than it teaches others

  15. Comparison is the thief of joy

  16. The past and the future aren't as important as the present

  17. Philosophy and psychology are massively underrated

  18. People aren't out to get you

  19. You might end up liking stuff you once hated (or the other way around)

  20. Selfcare isn't selfish

  21. People value you more than you think they do

  22. Clear Communication goes a long way

  23. Money is important, but it isn't the answer to happiness

  24. Call people if you miss them

  25. Try and you might succeed. If you never try, you’ve already failed.

  26. People will come and go; make an effort to keep the ones that matter

These are things I’ve learned from people I’ve met, mistakes I’ve made, friends, family, mentors and mentees. I hope to write such a piece every year, but I’m grateful to have been able to write this one.

P.S - I’m leaning towards content that will add value to your personal/professional life moving forward. I know some of you liked my past articles so I do appreciate the feedback.
Much Love
Rainar
